Our Team

Applied Photonix, the creator of ViroZap™, was established in 2023. The principal inventors are scientists and serial entrepreneurs Dr. Yogi Goswami and Lovely Goswami. The company develops innovative technologies that eradicate harmful pathogens from the air.

Lovely Goswami

CEO, Applied Photonix

Lovely Goswami is President and Chief Operating Officer for Applied Photonix. She is a scientist and a serial entrepreneur in the field of clean environment and indoor air purification. She is skilled in business planning, entrepreneurship, venture capital, strategic partnerships and management. She is experienced with a demonstrated history of working in the medical device industry and indoor air purification technologies.

Professional History

Lovely Goswami started Advanced Technologies and Testing Labs, Inc. (ATTL) in 1994. ATTL provided various environmental technologies and testing services to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Defense, and various cities, counties, municipalities and industries around the U.S. In 2009, she sold the environmental testing division of ATTL and started to develop indoor air cleaning devices based on the technologies licensed from a university. She spun off her indoor air cleaning device company and kept developing new technologies. Her newest technology is a photonic air purification device, which forms the basis of Applied Photonix. It is the newest and the most powerful technology that destroys all viruses, bacteria, mold spores and volatile organic chemicals found in air. The technology physically eliminates these pathogens without generating any toxic residues or byproducts.

Education

Lovely Goswami holds a master’s degree in Biochemistry from North Carolina A and T State University, a master’s degree in Anthropology and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Botany and Zoology from Delhi University in India.

Dr. D. Yogi Goswami

Vice President, Applied Photonix

Dr. D. Yogi Goswami is a Distinguished Professor and the director of the Clean Energy Research Center at the University of South Florida. His inventions have been commercialized. In 2016, Dr. Goswami was inducted into Florida Inventors Hall of Fame

Professional History

Dr. Goswami is an internationally-recognized expert in solar energy and energy storage technologies with over 45 years of academic and industrial experience. Dr. Goswami has made prodigious contributions to these fields by publishing 423 technical papers and 23 books. His book, “Principles of Solar Engineering,” now in its 4th edition, is widely recognized as a classic. He has also been granted 34 patents. Since 2005, he has been a distinguished university professor and director of the University of South Florida’s Clean Energy Center. Prior to that, Dr. Goswami conducted research in clean energy at the University of Florida and at North Carolina A&T University.

Dr. Goswami received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University (1975) and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn (1971).

Terrance Murray

VP of Sales and Marketing

Terry has more than 35 years of distinguished experience leading both corporate business units and investor-driven startups in global medical device, life science and health technology sectors. His areas of expertise include sales, marketing, strategy and operations. Terry's experience commercializing Big Data, machine learning and AI applications dates back to 2009. His corporate leadership roles include successful engagements as Vice President, Int'l Marketing, STERIS Corporation (Infection Prevention Technologies), VP of Sales and Marketing, EU, Middle East & Africa, STERIS; and VP of Sales and Marketing for REVCO Technologies (SPX Corp.). Terry's business strategy with REVCO led to an acquisition by Thermo Fisher for $750MM, an increase in company valuation of more than $600MM in four years. A recent engagement with REV.1 Engineering resulted in a $25MM cash exit within thirty-six months.  Terry is a veteran of U.S. Naval Intelligence.

Head of Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships, Applied Photonix

Ash has more than a decade of experience leading business transformation, growth strategy, and technology-driven initiatives across a variety of industries. Throughout his career, he has worked at the intersection of strategy, operations, technology, and innovation, helping organizations identify growth opportunities, improve performance, and accelerate market adoption of new products and services. Prior to joining Applied Photonix, Ash worked across consulting, product, and technology roles supporting enterprise clients and high-growth organizations. His experience includes advising senior leadership teams on growth initiatives, building scalable operating models, and driving execution of technology-enabled transformation programs. At Applied Photonix, Ash focuses on corporate development, strategic partnerships, business development, commercialization strategy, and market expansion initiatives. His work spans identifying and developing new market opportunities, structuring strategic alliances, supporting revenue growth initiatives, and advancing commercialization pathways for ViroZap™ across healthcare, commercial, educational and residential markets. His efforts support the company's long-term vision of bringing innovative air purification solutions to organizations seeking healthier and safer indoor environments.

Gabriel Alejandro Frias D’Alto

Graphic Designer, Applied Photonix

Gabriel brings a multidisciplinary creative background to the Applied Photonix team, specializing in graphic design, branding, visual communication, and production-ready print design. His experience spans both digital and physical media, allowing him to oversee projects from initial concept development through final production with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and visual impact. At Applied Photonix, Gabriel contributes to the company’s growing presence through the creation of promotional campaigns, product visuals, printed materials, presentations, and brand-focused content that communicates the innovation and professionalism behind ViroZap™ technology. His understanding of layout design, typography, color theory, and print preparation ensures that every project maintains a polished and professional standard.Known for pushing creative boundaries and refining visual detail, Gabriel approaches every design with a commitment to elevating the perception of quality and craftsmanship in modern branding.

Sales Intern, Applied Photonix

Alexander Smith is a Sales Intern at Applied Photonix, where he contributes to the company’s business development efforts by engaging with clients, generating leads, and supporting strategic sales initiatives for ViroZap™. With a strong foundation in accounting and a growing expertise in sales strategy, Alexander plays a key role in connecting the company’s innovative solutions with residential, commercial, and institutional markets. Alexander brings a results-driven and customer-focused approach to the sales team. At Applied Photonix, he assists in prospective outreach, qualifications, and relationship building with potential clients. He works closely with the marketing team to ensure a smooth transition from initial contact to opportunity development, helping to expand the company’s market reach. His background in accounting gives him a unique advantage in understanding financial considerations, cost structures, and value-driven solutions, enabling him to communicate the business impact of ViroZap™ with clarity and confidence.

Rishi Vasudeva

Rishi Vasudeva brings a bachelor's in chemical engineering with specialization in polymer sc. and technology;  master's in civil and Enviornmental Engineering with Research and experience in Indoor Air Quality and building materials. Further he has relevant industry experience in 510k Approval in medical device industry along with UL certification.He is instrumental in planning and managing the product certifications including UL and FDA 510K for APL’s products and help in designing a retrofit of APL products in the building systems. His core competencies include NPD (new product development), manufacturing and QA/QC.
