Applied Photonix, the creator of ViroZap, was established in 2023. The principal inventors are scientists and serial entrepreneurs Dr. Yogi Goswami and Lovely Goswami. The company develops innovative technologies that eradicate harmful pathogens from the air.

Lovely Goswami is President and Chief Operating Officer for Applied Photonix. She is a scientist and a serial entrepreneur in the field of clean environment and indoor air purification. She is skilled in business planning, entrepreneurship, venture capital, strategic partnerships and management. She is experienced with a demonstrated history of working in the medical device industry and indoor air purification technologies.

Professional History

Lovely Goswami started Advanced Technologies and Testing Labs, Inc. (ATTL) in 1994. ATTL provided various environmental technologies and testing services to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Defense, and various cities, counties, municipalities and industries around the U.S. In 2009, she sold the environmental testing division of ATTL and started to develop indoor air cleaning devices based on the technologies licensed from a university. She spun off her indoor air cleaning device company and kept developing new technologies. Her newest technology is a photonic air purification device, which forms the basis of Applied Photonix. It is the newest and the most powerful technology that destroys all viruses, bacteria, mold spores and volatile organic chemicals found in air. The technology physically eliminates these pathogens without generating any toxic residues or byproducts.

Education

Lovely Goswami holds a master’s degree in Biochemistry from North Carolina A and T State University, a master’s degree in Anthropology and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Botany and Zoology from Delhi University in India.

Dr. D. Yogi Goswami

Vice President, Applied Photonix

Dr. D. Yogi Goswami is a Distinguished Professor and the director of the Clean Energy Research Center at the University of South Florida. His inventions have been commercialized. In 2016, Dr. Goswami was inducted into Florida Inventors Hall of Fame

Professional History

Dr. Goswami is an internationally-recognized expert in solar energy and energy storage technologies with over 45 years of academic and industrial experience. Dr. Goswami has made prodigious contributions to these fields by publishing 423 technical papers and 23 books. His book, “Principles of Solar Engineering,” now in its 4th edition, is widely recognized as a classic. He has also been granted 34 patents. Since 2005, he has been a distinguished university professor and director of the University of South Florida’s Clean Energy Center. Prior to that, Dr. Goswami conducted research in clean energy at the University of Florida and at North Carolina A&T University.

Dr. Goswami received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University (1975) and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn (1971).

Industry Leadership

For eighteen years, Dr. Goswami served as the editor-in-chief of the preeminent scientific journal “Solar Energy.” He is currently the editor-in-chief of “Solar Compass,” the journal of the International Solar Alliance and Elsevier. Dr. Goswami is a recipient of the highest energy related awards issued by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the American Solar Energy Society (ASES), the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), the American Association of Engineering Societies (AAES) and more than 50 other awards and certificates from major engineering and scientific societies. The AAES also awarded Dr. Goswami the Joan Hodges Queneau Palladium Medal for engineering achievements for environmental conservation. Dr. Goswami is a fellow and honorary member of ASME, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), ASES, ISES and the National Academy of Inventors. Other memberships include the Pan American Academy of Engineering, the Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine of Florida, and the Florida’s Inventors’ Hall of Fame. Dr. Goswami has served as a governor and senior vice president of ASME-International, president of the ISES and president of the International Association for Solar Energy Education (IASEE). He has also been a frequent adviser to the Government of India on solar energy development matters.

Robert White

Business Development Manager, Applied Photonix

Robert White is the Business Development Manager for Applied Photonix. He is a highly motivated, results-driven sales professional with a passion for meeting new people, developing relationships and solving problems. He has a keen ability to identify and analyze market trends and develop effective strategies to contribute to the growth of businesses.

Professional History

Robert White started his professional career after college working at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, trading stock options for 5 years. He then transitioned into sales in Telecommunications and Information Technology. He has worked previously for Verizon Business and then with Cisco Systems for over 15 years in various sales positions. Throughout his career, he has progressively held positions with increasing levels of responsibility. Most recently, he worked for BIOSWEEP as a Director of Business Development where he developed a comprehensive territory plan to expand the presence of the company and its brand.

Robert White holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance & Management from Clarion University in Pennsylvania.

Rishi Vasudeva

Rishi Vasudeva brings a bachelor's in chemical engineering with specialization in polymer sc. and technology;  master's in civil and Enviornmental Engineering with Research and experience in Indoor Air Quality and building materials. Further he has relevant industry experience in 510k Approval in medical device industry along with UL certification.He is instrumental in planning and managing the product certifications including UL and FDA 510K for APL’s products and help in designing a retrofit of APL products in the building systems. His core competencies include NPD (new product development), manufacturing and QA/QC.
